RM Rap and Lyricism Compendium - content list

"...he creates songs that aren’t just catchy; these songs must have a significant meaning that connects them with their fans." - local talk news about Namjoon

Kim Namjoon, or RM, is commonly known as 'the Leader of BTS' but if you let me, a writer and a perceptive, introduce him, then he's 'The bridge between words and nature.'

Namjoon started writing even before he debuted, he is one of the songwriters of the group, crediting 187 songs under his stage name, RM, from Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), and is the youngest and second most-credited songwriter in the association's history. He writes his own Rap, which makes him respectable. Namjoon has a 'trademark' or a noticeable style when it comes to his lyrics. Oftentimes, his lyrics would include wordplays from Korean to English and vice versa, and metaphors of earth and nature which make reading his lyrics more challenging and eye-opening to new ideas and perspectives.

"They bring a new perspective or bring up points you wouldn’t have otherwise noticed, and it’s a quiet, fun game to play every time he releases something. " - Music & Lyrics: The Intricate Lyricism of Kim Namjoon

Namjoon has been enjoying museums and literature these past years, and even sharing his personal photos of art pieces he liked and mentioning books and music he's currently into with their fans. And with his passionate love for arts and nature, he had been including them in his lyrics which made him known for his allegorical use of them. See, his creations are not just what it is, they're broader than what we see and hear with multifarious relevant issues that are an eye-opener and relatable to society, and even their stories.

With Namjoon's genius use of nature in words (and the group's teamwork), they were able to present masterpieces that even reached the west. Thus, there are many songs made by him that touched my soul genuinely, songs that I took to heart and mind, and songs that edified me to write more about everything around me. With that, let's explore deeper into Kim Namjoon's Rap and lyricism: What does it figuratively mean?

note:

Just an appreciation blog series for the creative flow of RM's part and lyrics as well as his imaginative mind. I'm really fascinated by how the writers came up with such ideas, this then made me want to write a series for SUGA too.

This might take a while, so is my plan about SUGA's rap and lyricism. And I've always wanted to take my time writing because writer's block is the worst, and by taking it unhurriedly, I might thwart it.
